About Our Research Program:

Welcome to the website of Junior Arturo Gonzales-Arevalo's lab at Cleveland State University in Cleveland City.

The lab is part of the Chemistry Department at Cleveland State University and the GRHD. We focus on sodium-channel-targeted peptides to access the peripheral nervous system and cancer.  Our research program revolves around, basic organic synthesis and sodium channel biology to translational research in imaging and disease modeling, with three major areas of research: (i) peptide synthesis and conjugation for multimodal imaging, (ii) sodium channel validation and sensing and (iii) the relationship between the changes in variation/distribution of sodium channels during disease progression.
